Inputs

Reply to a message with .quote or provide .quote <text>. The bot removes user mentions from displayed text and uses the original author’s display name when quoting a message.

Limits and fallback

Generation is rate-limited to one command per user every six seconds. Server configuration sets the maximum input length (180–1,200 characters; default 720). If Pillow or media download fails, Headless tries an alternate image path and may ultimately send a plain-text quote without notifications.

Privacy

The renderer may download required assets from Discord CDN or URLs attached to the source message. Do not use private messages or content without permission as the source for a public quote.

Card appearance and use

The renderer centers quote text in the right-hand area and signs it with the author’s display name; the username and Headless Quote watermark may appear depending on configuration. The dark background can incorporate available message media. Keep quotes short for readability; use them for announcements, jokes, or memorable moments. Output can fall back to plain text when dependencies or media downloads fail.

.quote [text]

Also works: .q short text · .cuote short text
Respect the author’s consent and privacy when reusing content. The renderer may use attachments or stickers available on the quoted message.
