# Playing Music

> Use `/play` with a search or supported link; the bot resolves the track and plays it or adds it to the server queue.

## Search

`busqueda` is required and accepts 1–300 characters after surrounding whitespace is removed. Provide a title or artist; results depend on configured and available providers.

## Links and playlists

Use the `/play` slash command and enter a search or a URL supported by the configured sources in `busqueda`; the affiliated bot also accepts Spotify playlist links. This is a feature of the separate music service and does not provide personal Spotify OAuth in the main Headless bot. Playlists are limited to `MAX_PLAYLIST_TRACKS`: the default is 100 tracks and the setting accepts 1–500. If a track is already playing, results are appended to the queue instead of replacing it.

```headless-command Syntax theme={null}
/play <busqueda>
```

```headless-command Example theme={null}
/play busqueda: Lofi hip hop radio
```

## Per-server session

Playback state belongs to the server. Changes in one server do not affect another.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If the bot joins voice but produces no audio, check View Channel, Connect, and Speak, the Lavalink connection, and the configured provider. Do not post passwords or tokens.
