# Headless Music

> Guide to Headless's independent music service, with per-server queues, slash controls, and Lavalink playback.

## A separate service

Headless Music is an independent Discord bot. The Headless Dashboard does not control its player or share its voice session.

Headless Music is controlled with Discord slash commands. Search and supported URLs depend on the sources configured for that separate service.

> **[Invite Headless Music](https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=1542317635193274528\&permissions=2218118208\&integration_type=0\&scope=bot+applications.commands)**
>
> Authorize the official application with the bot and application-command scopes. Review the requested permissions before confirming.

## Queues isolated by server

Each server has its own session, queue, and playback preferences. Actions in one server do not change another community's queue.

## Playback and sources

The bot handles commands and player state; Lavalink resolves and streams audio. Available sources depend on the service configuration.

```headless-command Syntax theme={null}
/play <busqueda>
```

```headless-command Example theme={null}
/play busqueda: Lofi hip hop radio
```

## Setup

**1. Invite Headless Music**

Use the official authorization link with the bot and application-command scopes.

**2. Join a voice channel**

The bot needs View Channel, Connect, and Speak in the channel where it will play audio.

**3. Start playback**

Run `/play busqueda: Lofi hip hop radio` from a server text channel.

## Main features

> **Independent queues**
>
> Each server keeps its own player and queue.

> **Slash controls**
>
> Manage playback, the queue, settings, and diagnostics in Discord.

> **Audio filters**
>
> Choose registered effects such as Bass boost, Nightcore, and Karaoke.

> **Lavalink playback**
>
> The Lavalink service resolves tracks and streams audio.

> **Player visual example**
>
> The original documentation includes a static mockup of a demo track. It is not connected to a server, does not show a real queue, and its controls are disabled; real playback state is shown only in Discord.
