# Headless VC

> Headless VC creates temporary rooms controlled by their owner. It is separate from Headless Music, an independent playback service with slash commands.

## Temporary rooms

Choose a lobby channel and optional category. When someone joins, Headless creates a room and deletes it when empty. The current owner can manage its name, user limit, and access.

> Empty-room cleanup is active, but `afk-time` does not disconnect members for inactivity.

### `.privatevc lobby`

## Permissions

Creation and movement require Manage Channels and Move Members for the bot, plus valid channel overwrites. Several controls are available only from the member's own room.

### `.privatevc permit`

## Music

Headless Music has its own session, queue, and command catalog. Its configuration and permissions are not inherited from Headless VC.

## Steps

**1. Configure the lobby**

Follow the overview guide to set the channel and category.

**2. Test a room**

Join with a test account and verify permissions and cleanup after the room becomes empty.

**3. Share owner controls**

Give room owners the command list and permission guide.
