# Message scripting

> Headless uses text templates and a data-only embed parser. It does not evaluate arbitrary code or support pagination tags in custom messages.

## Current surface

Welcome, Auto Responder, leveling, Booster Roles announcements, moderation messages, and ticket opening messages use the shared parser where their configuration accepts templates. Each module receives only the context and variables actually available to it.

## Parser guides

> **[Embeds and messages](/docs/en/resources/scripting/embeds.md)**
>
> Properties, content, fields, images, and URL buttons supported by Headless.

> **[Variables](/docs/en/resources/scripting/variables.md)**
>
> Available keys, formatting, missing values, and context differences between modules.

> **[Ticket conditions](/docs/en/resources/scripting/tickets.md)**
>
> Conditions limited to the Ticket opening message and its specific variables.

> **[Pagination](/docs/en/resources/scripting/pagination.md)**
>
> Which responses have native pagination and why custom templates do not create pages.

## Variables and validation

Use the embed and variable guides for syntax and scope. If the event has a known key but no value, a template may render `N/A`; an unknown name or invalid syntax raises a validation error. Template conditions are only available in the Ticket opening message.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The parser processes data and templates; it does not evaluate arbitrary code. Properties and limits are validated by the component that consumes the message.
